"I do not claim that I can tell a story as it ought to be told. I only claim to know how a story ought to be told." -Mark Twain

Simple Sundays

This is an untouched picture of our yard in Kansas. We had a huge yard and the house was surrounded by 14 maple trees. It truly was beautiful as you can see. The downside.......shortly after all this beauty arrives, we knew it was time for the cold....And I mean bone-chilling cold! The other downside was that maple trees are considered "soft" wood and we always lost branches during the ice and snow. But for a good six weeks in Autumn, I lived in a gold and red wonderland.

Simple Sundays

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
                                                          Acts 17:11

Simple Sundays

I know every bird in the mountains,
and the creatures of the field are mine.

   Psalms 50:11 NIV

How comforting to know that God knows everything, every bird in the field, every creature on earth. He cares enough to know every animal. He loves us enough to care for everything.  He knows. He cares. He loves unconditionally.

But the greatest of these is LOVE....

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails....And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.(NIV)
1 Corinthians 13:1-8a and 13
There are no words that can be added to this beautiful, perfect passage.
Have a very special Valentines Day with the ones you love.
