Around The Clock!!

My son is getting married next month in what promises to be a beautiful fall wedding.

A few weeks ago, my sister-in-law threw a family shower for Fielding and Kelly. The theme of it was "Around the Clock".
Each guest was assigned a 'time of day' that their gift had to center around.  It was fun and made us all use our imagination.

Clocks were used everywhere for decoration and this wonderful clock was presented to the happy couple from  my sister-in-law. What great memories will be associated with that clock!

My sister-in-law is a Hostess Extrordinaire!!  She always creates beautiful table arrangements.  In addition she makes all the food (along with my niece, (and her daughter) Libby. PLUS she does the flowers as well.

Her parties are a feast for the eye, as well as the stomach.
(And there was actually food left after this crew had been through!!!)

We had a great evening of visiting and laughs. As the gifts were opened we each told why we had picked that particular gift for our designated hour. LOTS of fun!

Kelly is holding the clock, but they are also holding football platters and football decor for the 2 p.m. (gameday time) hour!
Autographed Pioneer Woman cookbook for the 4 p.m. hour, when you're thinking, "Hmmm, what am I going to cook for supper tonight?" Complete with red cooking utensils.
Monogramed towel coverups for the 7 a.m. hour!

(Although the picture is not good,) this was the 9 p.m. hour. It was an outdoor chimenea, complete with wood and other goodies to snuggle up around an outdoor fire.

My sister-in-law assigned the hours of 6 a.m. to midnight. There were great clever gifts, very practical (and will be much used) gifts, there were funny gifts, and things they weren't expecting.
At the end of the night
the happy couple needed help to get
all their new merchandise
into their car.
And my sister-in-law was left with very little leftovers to clean up!
It was a great evening full of family, food and fun.
I am linking this to Susan and her Tablescape Thursdays.  Not my usual kind of Tablescape, but just passing along a great shower idea!

  1. What a wonderful table with a theme carried out perfectly! That was/is truly a blessed couple to be showered like that. I love that centerpiece and the smaller bouquets attached to the tiered dishes as well. Would love some tiered dishes like that myself. It's really just spectacular. Major hat's off to the hostess!
